EcoMulch is a biodegradable paper mulch that provides effective weed control without chemicals or plastic. Made from reclaimed paper fiber, it blocks light to suppress weeds while still allowing water, air, and nutrients to reach plant roots. It also gently warms the soil to support early growth.
Product Dimensions: 100 feet (L) x 4 feet (W) with 3 inch holes
As EcoMulch naturally breaks down, it adds organic matter back into the soil, improving soil structure over time. It is 100% bio-based, fully biodegradable, made without synthetic chemicals, and OMRI Listed for certified organic growing.
Note: We do not recommend using metal pins or metal landscape staples to hold down EcoMulch. In our testing anything metal tore the paper and did not achieve the desired result. Use EcoStake Landscape Anchors to hold down EcoMulch.

A Regenerative Alternative
Weed Suppression That Feeds Your Soil, Not Just Covers It
If you're building a regenerative system, you already know that most of your inputs should be feeding your soil — not just sitting on top of it. EcoMulch lets you run effective weed suppression that actually belongs in that system. Use it as the foundation for a deep bed — layer it with wood chips, straw, or compost and you're not just mulching, you're building beds that get more productive season after season.
Pro Tips for using EcoMulch
Secure EcoMulch with biodegradable EcoStakes. Recommended spacing: {10–12 inches}
For best results, cover with straw, compost, or wood chips to prevent wind lift and further improve soil health.
EcoMulch will shrink slightly after the first wet/dry cycle. Thoroughly wet it, allow it to dry, then plant through the holes to avoid alignment issues.

Better Soil for About $1/Foot
Weed Control That's Also a Soil Investment
If you're looking for a simple, cost-effective way to improve both weed control and soil health, EcoMulch is worth a serious look. For just over $1 per linear foot, you're not just buying mulch — you're investing in a management tool that mimics a natural ecosystem. Over time, EcoMulch feeds soil microbes, improves drainage and water-holding capacity, and creates a more resilient soil structure. The result is healthier soil, stronger crops, and a system that works with nature instead of against it.

Useful option to the black plastic fabric
4 out of 5 stars
I wanted this for a number of reasons. Biodegradability being foremost but also as it is a lighter color, good for cooler weather crops in the heat. I use the regular black fabric for heat loving plants as living in a cooler climate it gives them a boost. Didn't read the insert about wetting before pinning down so it tore in a few places but still very pleased with it.
