Low Tunnel Wire Hoops are quick and easy to install. They come pre-cut and pre-arched. Use wire hoops to cover and protect your crops from insects, frost, and sun exposure. Height and width of the installed hoop depends on how you position the wire.
We have trialed a simple low tunnel wire hoop hack to install the hoops and crop covering without the use of clips or sandbags in the walking paths! See the video below for details!

Installation Tip
Wire Hoop Hack
We have developed a simple low tunnel wire hoop hack to install the hoops and crop covering without the use of clips or sandbags in the walking paths! To successfully use this low tunnel wire hoop hack positioning is the most important part.
- Install wire hoops over your crop every five to ten feet
- Lay crop covering over wire hoops
- Secure the crop cover at each end using weights or pinching with rebar
- Install one wire hoop on each side of the main wire hoop
- Ensure that wire hoops placed on the side are pushed into the ground deep enough so that they are below the height of the main wire hoop
- Repeat steps 3-4 down the length of your crop covering and main wire hoops

These have been a lifesaver for reducing our garden damage from insects and small critters. I originally purchased these for use over our potatoes (looking at you, Colorado potato beetle), but ended up using them for both the potatoes and the strawberries. I’m in a very windy location, and the 3 hoop idea (1 under, 2 over net) saved us from a lot of headaches.
